Fachhochschule Cologne 1975), married to Juan Carlos Núñez Hinojosa (Director of
the Cuban band COHIMBRE, one son (Dr. rer. nat. Pablo A. Walter).
I have worked as an independent fundraising & management consultant since
1991. From 2003 to 2007 I was Managing Director of the International
Consulting Firm Brakeley Limited and headed their German branch.
As part of my dissertation project I spent two years as a visiting research
fellow at American University in Washington
D.C. (1988 until 1990). I have
extensively written (four books and many articles) about philanthropy and
funding issues in the nonprofit world, in particular about fundraising in Germany, foundations, women’s philanthropy and fundraising in the USA. Since returning from the USA in 1990 I have been actively engaged in
pursuing my mission of increasing the societal importance and role of
fundraising and philanthropy in Germany
and across Europe.
While living in the USA, I was trained as an Organization Development
Consultant by the highly esteemed NTL Institute for Applied Behavorial
Studies, Alexandria, Virginia.1990 I was certified as a Myers-Briggs Type
Indicator (MBTI) administrator. Back in Germany,
I was also certified as a consultant for parish consultation and organization
development by Gemeindeberatung der Evangelischen Kirche in Hessen und Nassau, Frankfurt (Main)
in 1992.
From 1982 to 1987 I was a full-time politician
(Member of the Hessian
State Legislature,
State Secretary for Women’s
Issues). – From 1968 to 1970 I completed an
apprenticeship as an office clerk with Techno-Chemie, Frankfurt/Main. From
1970 to 1972 I worked as an office clerk in the export department of that
company.
